Bizler kasabada ya\u015fam\u0131\u015f olsak bile anlay\u0131\u015f\/zihniyet olarak k\u00f6yl\u00fc anlay\u0131\u015f\u0131na sahip olu\u015fumuzdan olacak ki ayn\u0131 davran\u0131\u015f\u0131 g\u00f6sterdik; belgeleri, nesneleri koruyamad\u0131k, anlat\u0131lanlar\u0131 kay\u0131t alt\u0131na alamad\u0131k. Ge\u00e7mi\u015fimizin yok olup gitmesine seyirci kald\u0131k. \u00d6rne\u011fin Kavas Mehmed\u2019e ait olan kalkan dedem Abdullah \u00dcz\u00fclmez\u2019de, k\u0131l\u0131c\u0131 ise dedemin a\u011fabeyi Zekeriya \u00dcz\u00fclmez\u2019deydi; Padi\u015fah taraf\u0131ndan kendisine verilmi\u015f berat ve at\u0131n\u0131n ko\u015fum tak\u0131m\u0131 Ali \u00dcz\u00fclmez\u2019deydi. \u015eimdi k\u0131l\u0131\u00e7, kalkan, berat ve benzeri \u015feylerin hi\u00e7biri yok. Bunlar eskiciye de sat\u0131lm\u0131\u015f olabilir. \u015eimdi, i\u015f i\u015ften ge\u00e7tikten sonra elimizde yeterli bilgi ve belgelerinin bulunmay\u0131\u015f\u0131ndan \u015fik\u00e2yet etmekteyiz, \u00fcz\u00fclmekteyiz. Ama \u00fcz\u00fclmek yitirilenleri geri getirmiyor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bilgi ve belgelerin yok olu\u015funu h\u0131zland\u0131ran \u00f6nemli \u015feylerden biri de Osmanl\u0131\u2019dan Cumhuriyet\u2019e ge\u00e7i\u015fteki radikal uygulamalard\u0131r: 1928 de \u201c<em>Harf Devrimi<\/em>\u201d ile Arap harflerinin yerine Latin harflerinin kabul edilmesi, okullarda Osmanl\u0131ca derslerin verilmeyi\u015fi ve Arap harfleriyle yaz\u0131l\u0131 her t\u00fcrl\u00fc evrak\u0131n\/belgenin g\u00fcnl\u00fck ya\u015famdan \u00e7\u0131kart\u0131lmas\u0131 veya \u00e7\u0131kmas\u0131yla k\u00f6k ve k\u00f6kenle ili\u015fki kesildi ya da kesilmesine neden oldu. 1915 Ermeni soyk\u0131r\u0131m\u0131, Cumhuriyetin kurulu\u015fu sonras\u0131 m\u00fcbadelelerin ger\u00e7ekle\u015ftirilmesi ve K\u00fcrt isyanlar\u0131 nedeniyle n\u00fcfus ve tapu kay\u0131tlar\u0131n\u0131n \u201c<em>ulusal g\u00fcvenlik<\/em>\u201d kapsam\u0131na al\u0131nmas\u0131 ve benzeri bir s\u00fcr\u00fc bahaneyle gizli tutulmas\u0131 bu i\u015fin tuzu biberi oldu<sup><strong>1<\/strong><\/sup>. Dahas\u0131, \u00fclke tarihinin yar\u0131s\u0131ndan fazlas\u0131 s\u0131k\u0131y\u00f6netim ya da ola\u011fan\u00fcst\u00fc hal alt\u0131nda ge\u00e7mesi beraberinde bir\u00e7ok olumsuzlu\u011fu getirdi. \u201c<em>Yasak yay\u0131n<\/em>\u201d kayg\u0131 ve korkusuyla \u201c<em>sak\u0131ncal\u0131<\/em>\u201d olsun olmas\u0131n bir\u00e7ok \u015fey yak\u0131ld\u0131 veya imha edildi ya da bir\u00e7ok \u015feye el konuldu<strong><sup>2<\/sup><\/strong>. \u015eimdi ara ki bulas\u0131n? Ama bizler her \u015feye ra\u011fmen kendi ay\u0131b\u0131m\u0131zdan kurtulmak i\u00e7in ge\u00e7mi\u015fimizi, k\u00f6k ve k\u00f6kenimizi ara\u015ft\u0131rmak, bulmak, \u00f6\u011frenmek istiyoruz. \u0130stemekle kalmay\u0131p elimizdeki bilgileri siz de\u011ferli akrabalarla payla\u015f\u0131yoruz. \u00c7ok eksi\u011fimizin oldu\u011funun fark\u0131nday\u0131z. Olsun. Ne bulursak, ne kurtar\u0131rsak, ne yazarsak k\u00e2rd\u0131r.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Zaman dedi\u011fimiz \u015fey al\u00e7\u0131 gibi donmuyor maalesef, ak\u0131p ge\u00e7iyor su gibi. Zaman\u0131nda bizler aile b\u00fcy\u00fcklerimizden ge\u00e7mi\u015fimize, atalar\u0131m\u0131za, ya\u015fanm\u0131\u015f olaylara dair anlat\u0131lanlar\u0131 dinleyebildik. \u015eimdi ne anlat\u0131mlara uygun mek\u00e2n ve ortam, ne anlatan ve ne de dinleyen var. Oysa atalar\u0131m\u0131z\u0131n, dedelerimizin unvan ve isimleri onlardan bizlere kalan birer yadig\u00e2rd\u0131r. Ama bu gidi\u015fle yadig\u00e2r olan bu unvan ve isimler bir\u00e7ok \u015fey gibi kaybolup gidecek. Bu kitab\u0131m\u0131z\u0131n yay\u0131nlan\u0131\u015f ama\u00e7lar\u0131ndan biri sonraki neslimizin ge\u00e7mi\u015flerini, k\u00f6k ve k\u00f6kenlerini bilmelerine yard\u0131mc\u0131 olmak ise, bir di\u011feri de bizlere yadig\u00e2r kalan unvan ve isimlerin ya\u015fat\u0131lmas\u0131n\u0131 sa\u011flamak, gidenleri y\u00e2d etmektir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ge\u00e7mi\u015fe dair anlat\u0131mlar genellikle k\u0131\u015f\u0131n olurdu. Odun sobas\u0131n\u0131n \u0131s\u0131tt\u0131\u011f\u0131 odada toplan\u0131l\u0131rd\u0131. Akrabalar, tan\u0131d\u0131klar minderlere kurulur, b\u00fcy\u00fckler sedirde otururdu. Ba\u011f bah\u00e7eden, konu kom\u015fudan, g\u00fcnl\u00fck olaylardan, ge\u00e7mi\u015ften konu\u015fulurdu. Babam Cuma \u00dcz\u00fclmez\u2019in (1931-1993) ge\u00e7mi\u015fimize, dedelerimize, \u015eeyh Said ve Ermeni soyk\u0131r\u0131m\u0131 gibi ya\u015fanm\u0131\u015f tarihi olaylara dair bir \u015fey anlatt\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131 hat\u0131rlam\u0131yorum. Evde oldu\u011fu zamanlar \u00e7o\u011funlukla 1001 gece masallar\u0131na denk d\u00fc\u015fen masallar, hik\u00e2yeler ve -soran oldu\u011funda- dini konulara dair a\u00e7\u0131klay\u0131c\u0131 \u015feyler anlat\u0131rd\u0131, ama o daha \u00e7ok kahveye gitmeyi tercih ederdi. Zelo (Zeliha) nenem (1907-1997) genellikle masal anlat\u0131rd\u0131, bazen de tarihi ya\u015fanm\u0131\u015f olaylara ve Kavas Mehmed\u2019e dair bir \u015feyler anlatt\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131 az \u00e7ok hat\u0131rl\u0131yorum. Dedem Abdullah \u00dcz\u00fclmez\u2019in (1915-1979) ne masalla, ne hik\u00e2yeyle, ne Hz. Ali\u2019nin cenkleriyle bir alakas\u0131 vard\u0131. Onun tek ilgi alan\u0131 ba\u011f bah\u00e7e i\u015fleri, bu\u011fday\u0131n mercime\u011fin iyi olu\u015fu veya olmay\u0131\u015f\u0131yd\u0131; avd\u0131, tav\u015fan ve kekli\u011fin nerelerde bulunabilece\u011fi, hangi da\u011f\u0131n kekli\u011finin sesinin g\u00fczel olu\u015fuydu. Kendisinin de sesi g\u00fczeldi, ama sermayesi yoktu. Keyifli oldu\u011fu zamanlar bazen bu\u011fday bi\u00e7erken, harman d\u00f6verken, \u00e7ift s\u00fcrerken, e\u015fekle y\u00fck ta\u015f\u0131rken t\u00fcrk\u00fc s\u00f6yledi\u011fini hat\u0131rl\u0131yorum. Ali \u00dcz\u00fclmez (1907-1979) daha \u00e7ok Hz. Ali\u2019nin cenk kitaplar\u0131n\u0131 okurdu. O cenk kitaplar\u0131n\u0131 okurken \u00e7o\u011fu kez dinleyenler a\u011flard\u0131. Bazen de o g\u00fcn\u00fcn siyasi olaylar\u0131 ve siyasi partileriyle ilgili a\u00e7\u0131klamalarda bulunurdu. Bekir \u00dcz\u00fclmez\u2019in (1909-1989) genellikle avc\u0131l\u0131k ve ta\u015f yontuculu\u011fu ile duvar ustal\u0131\u011f\u0131 \u00fczerine konu\u015ftu\u011funu hat\u0131rl\u0131yorum. Ama Zekeriya \u00dcz\u00fclmez (1903-1986) bir ba\u015fkayd\u0131. Yaz, k\u0131\u015f demez hep anlat\u0131rd\u0131. Yaz\u0131n bir a\u011fa\u00e7 g\u00f6lgesinde, k\u0131\u015f\u0131n soban\u0131n yan\u0131nda oturdu\u011fu minderin \u00fcst\u00fcnde bildiklerini ge\u00e7mi\u015ften ders \u00e7\u0131kart\u0131lmas\u0131 bab\u0131nda bir bir anlat\u0131rd\u0131. Anlatmadan b\u0131kmazd\u0131, tekrar tekrar anlat\u0131rd\u0131. \u015eimdi ge\u00e7mi\u015fimizle ilgili ne biliyorsak bu biraz da Zekeriya \u00dcz\u00fclmez\u2019in tekrarl\u0131 anlat\u0131mlar\u0131 sayesindedir diyebilirim. Bizlere bol bol atalar\u0131m\u0131z\u0131, dedelerimizi, ya\u015fanm\u0131\u015f tarihi\/olaylar\u0131 anlatt\u0131\u011f\u0131 i\u00e7in her bak\u0131mdan \u00f6vg\u00fcy\u00fc hak ediyor, kendisine minnettar\u0131z.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bu anlatanlar\u0131n hi\u00e7biri \u015fimdi aram\u0131zda de\u011fil, bizleri b\u0131rak\u0131p gittiler. Ya\u015fam\u0131n kural\u0131d\u0131r: \u00d6l\u00fcp gidenler bir d\u00f6nem an\u0131larda ya\u015fasa da nihayetinde unutulur. Ama gidenlerle ilgili an\u0131lar, anlat\u0131lar yaz\u0131ld\u0131\u011f\u0131nda tarihe kay\u0131t d\u00fc\u015f\u00fclm\u00fc\u015f olunur, tarihin sayfalar\u0131nda k\u00fc\u00e7\u00fck de olsa kendine bir yer bulur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anlat\u0131mlar\u0131 bizler \u00f6mr\u00fcm\u00fcz\u00fcn \u015fafa\u011f\u0131ndan itibaren dinlemeye ba\u015flam\u0131\u015ft\u0131k, \u015fimdi g\u00fcnbat\u0131m\u0131na yakla\u015f\u0131yoruz. Hayallere dal\u0131p ge\u00e7mi\u015fte geziniyor ve zorlu bir bellek \u00e7abas\u0131 g\u00f6stererek k\u0131r\u0131k d\u00f6k\u00fck an\u0131lar\u0131 ve anlat\u0131lanlar\u0131 toplamaya \u00e7al\u0131\u015f\u0131yoruz. Bizimkisi i\u011fneyle kuyu kazma, ama umutluyuz. \u00c7\u00fcnk\u00fc: \u201c<em>S\u00f6ylenmi\u015f kelimeler unutulabilir, ama duygusal bellek silinmez<\/em>.\u201d Bir soy zincirinin bug\u00fcn ya\u015fayan halkalar\u0131ndan biri olan bizler bu kitabi yazarak \u00f6z\u00fcnde ge\u00e7mi\u015fimizin kal\u0131nt\u0131lar\u0131n\u0131 kurtarmak istiyoruz. Yazd\u0131klar\u0131m\u0131z \u00e7ok \u00fcnl\u00fc, \u00f6zg\u00fcl a\u011f\u0131rl\u0131\u011f\u0131 fazla olan bir aileye veya ki\u015fiye ait olmayabilir, ama bu bizim ge\u00e7mi\u015fimizin hik\u00e2yesidir. Unutmayal\u0131m, nihayetinde \u201c<em>herkesin elmas\u0131nda kendi di\u015f izi<\/em>\u201d olur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bu \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmam\u0131z\u0131n ba\u015flang\u0131c\u0131 ve nedeni <strong>\u00c7ay\u00f6n\u00fc\u2019nden Ergani\u2019ye Uzun bir y\u00fcr\u00fcy\u00fc\u015f<\/strong> kitab\u0131m oldu. 2005\u2019te yay\u0131nlanan bu kitapta baz\u0131 \u015feyleri anlat\u0131rken yeri geldi\u011finde de yer yer <strong>Sofibekirler<\/strong> hakk\u0131nda baz\u0131 k\u0131s\u0131tl\u0131 bilgilere ve babam\u0131n amcas\u0131 Zekeriya \u00dcz\u00fclmez\u2019in anlat\u0131mlar\u0131na yer vermi\u015ftim. Bu fitili ate\u015fledi. Bunun \u00fczerine E\u015fref \u00dcz\u00fclmez, Sofibekirlere ait bilgi ve belgeleri toplay\u0131p yazarak bu i\u015fin a\u011f\u0131r i\u015f\u00e7ili\u011fini yapt\u0131. Abdurrahman \u00dcz\u00fclmez ise bir tarih bilim uzman\u0131 olarak yaz\u0131lanlar\u0131, anlat\u0131lanlar\u0131 ve belgeleri anlamland\u0131rmaya, yorumlamaya \u00e7al\u0131\u015ft\u0131. Her iki karde\u015f tarih\u00e7i olarak edindikleri bilgileri belleklerinde kay\u0131tl\u0131 olanlarla birle\u015ftirerek ge\u00e7mi\u015fimizi yazmaya \u00e7al\u0131\u015ft\u0131. Ali Haydar \u00dcz\u00fclmez ise dedemiz Abdullah \u00dcz\u00fclmez\u2019i tan\u0131tmaya \u00e7al\u0131\u015ft\u0131. Sonras\u0131nda E\u015fref\u2019in istemesi \u00fczerine ya\u015fan\u0131lan mek\u00e2n \u00dc\u00e7evler\u2019i ben kaleme ald\u0131m. Bu \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmada bizler ne kadar ba\u015far\u0131l\u0131 olduk bir \u015fey s\u00f6yleyemem, ama Sofibekirlerin torunlar\u0131 olarak elimizdeki bilgi k\u0131r\u0131nt\u0131lar\u0131ndan kendi tarihimizi k\u0131smen de olsa yazmay\u0131 ba\u015fard\u0131k diyebilirim. Haz\u0131rlam\u0131\u015f oldu\u011fumuz kitap eksik de olsa elinizde, ama bizim bu konudaki \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar\u0131m\u0131z hen\u00fcz bitmedi, ara\u015ft\u0131rmam\u0131z devam ediyor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Toplum olarak bizler genellikle kendimizden \u00e7ok ba\u015fkalar\u0131n\u0131 konu\u015fuyoruz, yaz\u0131yoruz ve onlar\u0131n ya\u015fam \u00f6yk\u00fclerini biliyoruz. Krallar\u0131, padi\u015fahlar\u0131, pa\u015falar\u0131, siyasi liderleri, futbolcular\u0131, \u015fark\u0131c\u0131 ve t\u00fcrk\u00fcc\u00fcleri, yazarlar\u0131 sorduklar\u0131nda dilimiz hemen \u00e7\u00f6z\u00fcl\u00fcr, saatlerce konu\u015fabilir ya da sayfalarca yaz\u0131 yazabiliriz. Ama kendi ailelerimizin ge\u00e7mi\u015fine s\u0131ra geldi\u011finde dut yemi\u015f b\u00fclb\u00fcl oluruz, tek sayfal\u0131k bir yaz\u0131 yazamay\u0131z. Kendimizi, ailemizi, k\u00f6y\u00fcm\u00fcz\u00fc, kasabam\u0131z\u0131, kentimizi bilmeden, tan\u0131madan ya\u015fam\u0131 ve de\u011fi\u015fimi nas\u0131l anlamland\u0131rabiliriz? \u00dcstelik ge\u00e7mi\u015f yaln\u0131z anlat\u0131lanlarla s\u0131n\u0131rl\u0131 de\u011fildir; unutulan ve anlat\u0131lmayanlard\u0131r ayn\u0131 zamanda. \u0130\u015fin do\u011frusu, aile b\u00fcy\u00fcklerimiz hayattayken ve hat\u0131rlayabilme durumundayken yazmal\u0131yd\u0131k, ama yazamad\u0131k. Ge\u00e7 kald\u0131k. Ne yapal\u0131m, zarar\u0131n neresinden d\u00f6nersek k\u00e2rd\u0131r.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yapt\u0131\u011f\u0131m\u0131z \u00e7al\u0131\u015fma bir soy zincirinin belli bir d\u00f6nemden sonra s\u00fcre\u00e7 i\u00e7erisindeki ak\u0131\u015f\u0131d\u0131r: Kavas Mehmed\u2019den Sofibekir\u2019e ve sonras\u0131nda da \u00dcz\u00fclmez soy isminin al\u0131n\u0131\u015f\u0131n\u0131n ve ge\u00e7mi\u015fimizin flu hik\u00e2yesidir. Seminer ve tez d\u00f6nemlerimde okuldaki hocalar\u0131m aile tarih\u00e7ili\u011finden bahsetmeye ba\u015flad\u0131lar. Modern tarih\u00e7ili\u011fin bir par\u00e7as\u0131 olan aile tarih\u00e7ili\u011fi ge\u00e7mi\u015fin izlerini aramak i\u00e7in asl\u0131nda g\u00fczel bir \u00e7al\u0131\u015fma olabilirdi. Hocalar\u0131mdan baz\u0131lar\u0131 Diyarbak\u0131r, Ergani, Diyarbak\u0131r Ulu Cami ile ilgili \u00e7al\u0131\u015fma yapmam\u0131 istediler. O d\u00f6nemde bu fikirlerden ho\u015flanmad\u0131m. \u00c7\u00fcnk\u00fc ar\u015fiv \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmas\u0131n\u0131 sevmiyordum. Genelde g\u00fcncel ve kavramsal konular daha fazla ilgimi \u00e7ekiyordu. Ar\u015fivlerle ilgili \u00e7al\u0131\u015fan hocalar\u0131mdansa \u00e7a\u011fda\u015f d\u00fcnya ve son d\u00f6nemdeki d\u00fcnya siyasi ak\u0131mlar\u0131 ile ilgili fikirler sunan hocalar\u0131m daha fazla ilgimi \u00e7ekiyordu. Bu y\u00fczden hi\u00e7 soyumun ve ailemin tarihi ile ilgili b\u00f6lgesel \u00e7al\u0131\u015fma yapmad\u0131m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Zekeriya dede \u00f6lmeden ondan dinledi\u011fim hik\u00e2yeleri toparlamak ve eksik halkalar\u0131 ona sormak isterdim. Hatta ses kayd\u0131 yapabilseydim ke\u015fke. Foto\u011fraf \u00e7ekmeyi ve \u00f6zellikle \u00dc\u00e7evler\u2019in foto\u011fraflar\u0131n\u0131 \u00e7ekmeyi 1986-1995 y\u0131llar\u0131 aras\u0131nda d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcnd\u00fcm. Hat\u0131rlad\u0131\u011f\u0131m hik\u00e2yeleri k\u00fc\u00e7\u00fck k\u00fc\u00e7\u00fck notlar almaya ba\u015flad\u0131\u011f\u0131mda ise art\u0131k dedem vefat etmi\u015fti. \u0130lk \u015fecere olu\u015fturma bu d\u00f6nemde akl\u0131ma geldi. B\u00f6ylelikle ser\u00fcven ba\u015flad\u0131 ama baz\u0131 par\u00e7alar eksik kald\u0131.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2000 y\u0131ll\u0131lar\u0131nda babam\u0131n vefat\u0131 ile Abdurrahman a\u011fabeyimle Elaz\u0131\u011f\u2019da yaz tatillerinde g\u00f6r\u00fc\u015f\u00fcrken akl\u0131m\u0131za bir fikir geldi. Beraberce aile ara\u015ft\u0131rmas\u0131 yapacakt\u0131k. Ben, hik\u00e2ye yazacakt\u0131m, a\u011fabeyim ise ailemizle ilgili biraz daha ara\u015ft\u0131rmaya y\u00f6nelik yaz\u0131lar yazacakt\u0131. M\u00fcsl\u00fcm a\u011fabeyimizin \u201c\u00c7ay\u00f6n\u00fc\u2019nden Ergani\u2019ye Uzun bir y\u00fcr\u00fcy\u00fc\u015f\u201d(2005) kitab\u0131n\u0131n piyasa \u00e7\u0131kmas\u0131 bizde heyecan uyand\u0131rd\u0131. Sonraki y\u0131llarda M\u00fcsl\u00fcm ve Ali Haydar a\u011fabeylerin fikirleri ile bu proje son d\u00fczl\u00fc\u011fe \u00e7\u0131kt\u0131. Kim bu projenin ucundan az da olsa tuttuysa te\u015fekk\u00fcrlerimi sunar\u0131m. Baz\u0131 akrabalar\u0131m\u0131z\u0131n bu projeden haberleri vard\u0131. Bazen bilgi bazen de foto\u011frafla bize yard\u0131m etmeye \u00e7al\u0131\u015ft\u0131lar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ben de, bizden sonraki gen\u00e7 nesillere bu hik\u00e2ye ve bilgileri arma\u011fan b\u0131rak\u0131yorum. Aile gen\u00e7lerimizden bir tanesi bile bunun devam\u0131n\u0131 yazar ise amac\u0131ma ula\u015fm\u0131\u015f sayar\u0131m kendimi.
