Bildi\u011fim kadar\u0131yla da zaten say\u0131lar\u0131 pek fazla de\u011fil. Bu nedenle M\u00fcsl\u00fcman bir Osmanl\u0131n\u0131n 1892 y\u0131l\u0131nda \u0130stanbul\u2019dan Ba\u011fdat\u2019a yapt\u0131\u011f\u0131 seyahatle ilgili g\u00f6zlemlerini merak ederek hevesle kitab\u0131 okumaya ba\u015flad\u0131m, ama okumaya ba\u015flamamla birlikte hayal k\u0131r\u0131kl\u0131\u011f\u0131 ya\u015fad\u0131m: Anlat\u0131lanlarda di\u015fe dokunur bir \u015fey bulamad\u0131m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1800\u2019li y\u0131llarda Bat\u0131l\u0131 diplomatlar, askeri yetkililer, casuslar, bilim insanlar\u0131, gazeteciler, yazarlar, misyonerler Anadolu\u2019yu, Mezopotamya\u2019y\u0131, K\u00fcrdistan\u2019\u0131, Arabistan\u2019\u0131, daha do\u011frusu Osmanl\u0131 \u0130mparatorlu\u011fu s\u0131n\u0131rlar\u0131 d\u00e2hilinde bulunan yerleri ad\u0131m ad\u0131m gezmektedir. Bunlar gittikleri yerlerin etnik yap\u0131s\u0131n\u0131, inan\u00e7lar\u0131n\u0131, ya\u015fama bi\u00e7imlerini, ekonomik durumlar\u0131n\u0131, sorunlar\u0131n\u0131, insanlar\u0131n kendi aralar\u0131ndaki ve ba\u015fka etnik gruplarla veya inan\u00e7 gruplar\u0131yla ili\u015fkilerini, yer alt\u0131 ve yer \u00fcst\u00fc do\u011fal kaynaklar\u0131n\u0131, Osmanl\u0131n\u0131n buralardaki idari a\u011f\u0131rl\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131 veya etnik\/inan\u00e7 gruplar\u0131n\u0131n devletle ili\u015fkilerini ayr\u0131nt\u0131l\u0131 bir \u015fekilde g\u00f6zlemleyip not ettiklerini, raporla\u015ft\u0131r\u0131p ilgili yerlere\/makamlara sunduklar\u0131n\u0131, daha sonra da bu notlar\u0131n bir\u00e7o\u011funun kitap olarak bas\u0131ld\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131 merakl\u0131 okurlar bilir. B\u00f6ylesi kitaplarla yazar\u0131 bilinmeyen M\u00fcsl\u00fcman bir Osmanl\u0131 seyyah\u0131n kitab\u0131n\u0131 kar\u015f\u0131la\u015ft\u0131r\u0131nca insan hayal k\u0131r\u0131kl\u0131\u011f\u0131 ya\u015f\u0131yor ister istemez.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kitap; ismi mahfuz, yani saklanm\u0131\u015f bir devlet g\u00f6revlisi ya da gazeteci oldu\u011fu tahmin edilen biri taraf\u0131ndan 1892 y\u0131l\u0131nda \u0130stanbul\u2019dan ba\u015flay\u0131p Ba\u011fdat\u2019a kadar kara, deniz, nehir ve demir yoluyla ve tren, gemi, kelek, araba ve at \u00fczerinde yap\u0131lan bir seyahatte kaleme al\u0131nan ve s\u0131ras\u0131yla Samsun, Amasya, Tokat, Sivas, Malatya, Ma\u2018m\u00fbret\u00fc\u2019l-Aziz (Elaz\u0131\u011f), Ergani Madeni, Ergani, Diyarbekir, Musul, Ba\u011fdad, Kerbel\u00e2, Necef, Basra, \u00c2ne, Zor, Urfa, Birecik, Haleb, \u0130skenderun, Adana, Rodos, \u0130zmir ve Manisa\u2019dan \u0130stanbul\u2019daki bir dostuna yollad\u0131\u011f\u0131 25 mektuptan olu\u015fmakta. Kitab\u0131 yay\u0131na \u00d6mer Hakan \u00d6zalp haz\u0131rlam\u0131\u015f. Kitap, ger\u00e7ek bir seyahat sonucu yaz\u0131lm\u0131\u015f de\u011fil gibi, sanki masa ba\u015f\u0131nda oturulup daha \u00f6nce yaz\u0131lm\u0131\u015f seyahatnamelerden baz\u0131 bilgiler al\u0131narak ve kartpostallara bak\u0131larak yaz\u0131lm\u0131\u015f hayal \u00fcr\u00fcn\u00fc bir eser izlenimi veriyor. Seyyah\u0131n konaklad\u0131\u011f\u0131 yerlerde kendisini kar\u015f\u0131layan ya da misafir eden \u015fah\u0131slar\u0131n isimlerini yazmay\u0131\u015f\u0131 da bu kan\u0131y\u0131 do\u011frular gibi. Kitab\u0131n takdiminde \u00d6mer Hakan \u00d6zalp da bu konuya de\u011finmekte, ama \u201cmola yerleriyle ilgili ayr\u0131nt\u0131l\u0131 bilgiler verilmesi, bu ihtimali ortadan kald\u0131rmaktad\u0131r\u201d demektedir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hayalli bir seyahat olu\u015funu bir tarafa b\u0131rakal\u0131m, \u00f6nemli olan, seyahatin ger\u00e7ekle\u015fti\u011fi s\u00f6ylenen tarihlerde Osmanl\u0131\u2019da Sultan II. Abd\u00fclhamid padi\u015faht\u0131r\/halifedir ve Sultan Abd\u00fclhamid d\u00f6neminde (1876\u20131909) Osmanl\u0131 \u0130mparatorlu\u011fu i\u00e7ten i\u00e7e kaynamakta ve kaynat\u0131lmaktad\u0131r. Bat\u0131 taraf\u0131ndan Osmanl\u0131 \u201chasta adam\u201d diye nitelendirilmekte ve \u201cdaha ne kadar ya\u015far\u201d diye hesaplar yap\u0131lmaktad\u0131r. \u0130\u00e7te ise Tanzimat ve Islahat Ferman\u0131 gibi reform ve yeni idari d\u00fczenlemelerin getirdi\u011fi beklentiler ve ho\u015fnutsuzluk s\u00fcrmekte, Balkanlarda s\u00fcrekli toprak kayb\u0131 olmakta, Bulgarlar ba\u015fta olmak \u00fczere halklar ba\u011f\u0131ms\u0131zl\u0131klar\u0131n\u0131 kazanmakta, Ermeniler e\u015fit vatanda\u015fl\u0131k hakk\u0131 i\u00e7in \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmakta, \u00d6zerk K\u00fcrt beyliklerinin (mir\u2019liklerin) da\u011f\u0131t\u0131lmas\u0131n\u0131n ard\u0131ndan 1891 y\u0131l\u0131ndan itibaren baz\u0131 K\u00fcrt a\u015firetlerinden olu\u015fturulan Hamidiye Alaylar\u0131yla K\u00fcrtlere \u201cyeniden a\u015firetle\u015fme\u201d projesi dayat\u0131lmakta, 93 Harbi olarak bilinen Osmanl\u0131-Rus sava\u015f\u0131n\u0131n (1877-1878) y\u0131k\u0131c\u0131 etkisi ya\u015fam\u0131n her alan\u0131nda kendisini hissettirmekte, vergi k\u00f6yl\u00fcn\u00fcn belini b\u00fckmektedir. Osmanl\u0131 y\u00f6netimi edindi\u011fi tecr\u00fcbeler sonucu art\u0131k Balkanlardaki halklardan kendisine bir hay\u0131r gelmeyece\u011fini anlay\u0131nca, \u0130mparatorlu\u011fun do\u011fusunda ya\u015fayan M\u00fcsl\u00fcmanlardan a\u015f\u0131r\u0131 vergi ve asker toplamay\u0131 hedefler ve bunun i\u00e7in \u201cK\u00fcrdistan\u2019\u0131n yeniden fethi\u201dne giri\u015fir. G\u00f6\u00e7erlerin isk\u00e2na zorlanmas\u0131 ve K\u00fcrtlerin asker ve vergi vermek istememesi yer yer isyanlar\u0131n \u00e7\u0131kmas\u0131na neden olur. \u0130syanlar \u00f6rg\u00fcts\u00fcz ve K\u00fcrt ulusal bilincinden yoksun olu\u015fundan dolay\u0131 \u00e7ok kolay bast\u0131r\u0131l\u0131r, ama asayi\u015f ve g\u00fcvenlik sorunu ya\u015fan\u0131r. Kimsenin mal ve can g\u00fcvenli\u011fi bulunmamakta, her tarafta asker ka\u00e7aklar\u0131, e\u015fk\u0131yalar yol keser, ya\u011fma yapar ve devletin t\u00fcm kademelerinde r\u00fc\u015fvet al\u0131r ba\u015f\u0131n\u0131 gider. Halk peri\u015fan bir vaziyettedir (<em>Daha detayl\u0131 bilgi i\u00e7in Nihat Karademir\u2019in kaleme ald\u0131\u011f\u0131, N\u00fbbihar Yay\u0131nlar\u0131 taraf\u0131ndan yay\u0131mlanan \u201cSultan Abd\u00fclhamid ve K\u00fcrtler\u201d kitab\u0131na bak\u0131la bilinir<\/em>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bunlar sanki hi\u00e7 ya\u015fanm\u0131yormu\u015f, yokmu\u015f gibi, kitab\u0131 kaleme alan ismi belirsiz seyyah her u\u011frad\u0131\u011f\u0131 mek\u00e2n\u0131 g\u00fcll\u00fck g\u00fclistanl\u0131k olarak g\u00f6r\u00fcr\/g\u00f6sterir. Hi\u00e7bir yerde hi\u00e7bir sorun yoktur! \u201cAsr-\u0131 cel\u00eel-i hazret-i \u015fehriy\u00e2r\u00een\u201d, yani II. Abdulhamid\u2019in sayesinde memleket geli\u015fmektedir. Asayi\u015f \u201cber-kem\u00e2ldir\u201d. Her gitti\u011fi yer \u201clatif ve dil ni\u015f\u00eendir (ho\u015f ve g\u00f6n\u00fcl \u00e7ekicidir)\u201d. Her yer \u201clatif, ruh-perver (ho\u015f, ruh ok\u015fay\u0131c\u0131)\u201d ve \u201cferah-fez\u00e2 (i\u00e7 a\u00e7\u0131c\u0131)\u201dd\u0131r. Gidilen her yerin \u00e7ok g\u00fczel \u201cmen\u00e2z\u0131r-\u0131 dil r\u00fcb\u00e2s\u0131 (g\u00f6n\u00fcl al\u0131c\u0131 manzaras\u0131)\u201d bulunmaktad\u0131r. Seyyah, bir g\u00f6z\u00fcn\u00fc t\u00fcmden kapatm\u0131\u015f di\u011fer g\u00f6z\u00fcn\u00fc biraz \u015fa\u015f\u0131 yapm\u0131\u015f olmas\u0131ndan dolay\u0131 olumsuz hi\u00e7bir \u015feyi g\u00f6rmeden ya da kendisini s\u0131k\u0131nt\u0131ya sokacak na-ho\u015f hi\u00e7bir \u015feye dokunmadan pembe bir tablo \u00e7izerek bir Osmanl\u0131 g\u00fczellemesi kaleme alm\u0131\u015f.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Seyyah\u0131n gezdi\u011fi kentlerin \u00e7o\u011fu etnik ve inan\u00e7 \u00e7e\u015fitlili\u011fi olan yerlerdir. Seyyah, nedense mektuplar\u0131nda Rumlardan, Ermenilerden, K\u00fcrtlerden, Lazlardan s\u00f6z etmiyor. Kitab\u0131nda H\u0131ristiyan, Alevi, Ezidi s\u00f6zc\u00fcklerine rastlanm\u0131yor. (H\u0131ristiyan s\u00f6zc\u00fc\u011f\u00fc sadece Haleb \u015fehri anlat\u0131l\u0131rken nas\u0131l olmu\u015fsa bir kez yaz\u0131lm\u0131\u015f.) Seyyah\u0131n her gitti\u011fi yerde ahali zengin, hanlar (bitli de\u011fil) temizdir. Ve gitti\u011fi yerin b\u00fcy\u00fck \u00e7o\u011funlu\u011funda \u201cahalinin \u00e7o\u011fu T\u00fcrk ve M\u00fcsl\u00fcman\u2019d\u0131r\u201d ya da \u201ck\u0131sm-\u0131 a\u2019zam\u0131 (b\u00fcy\u00fck bir k\u0131sm\u0131) T\u00fcrk\u2019ten m\u00fcrekkep\u201dtir. Malatya, Elaz\u0131\u011f, Maden ve Diyarbekir\u2019e dair anlat\u0131mlarda K\u00fcrtler hakk\u0131nda bilgi vermeyi bir tarafa b\u0131rakal\u0131m, metinlerde K\u00fcrt s\u00f6zc\u00fc\u011f\u00fc dahi kullan\u0131lmamaktad\u0131r. Yine ayn\u0131 \u015fekilde, \u00e7ok ender olarak baz\u0131 yerlerde kiliselerden s\u00f6z edilmektedir ama kiliselerin cemaatinden hi\u00e7 s\u00f6z edilmemektedir. Sadece ve sadece Ergani\u2019de; \u201cBu ovada meskun (oturan) ahalinin k\u0131sm-\u0131 a\u2019zam\u0131 (b\u00fcy\u00fck bir k\u0131sm\u0131) K\u00fcrt\u2019ten ibaret olup, maahaza (bununla birlikte), bunlar\u0131n hemen k\u00e2ffesi de (tamam\u0131) lisan-\u0131 m\u00e2der-z\u00e2dlar\u0131 (ana-dilleri) bulunan K\u00fcrt\u00e7e\u2019den ba\u015fka T\u00fcrk\u00e7e ile de tekell\u00fcm etmektedirler (konu\u015fmaktad\u0131rlar)\u201d denilerek K\u00fcrtlerin varl\u0131\u011f\u0131na de\u011finilmektedir (s.85). Birde Cizre\u2019nin bir k\u00f6y\u00fcnde tan\u0131k oldu\u011fu bir K\u00fcrt d\u00fc\u011f\u00fcn\u00fc anlat\u0131lmaktad\u0131r (s.98). Yine ayn\u0131 \u015fekilde, sadece Ergani\u2019de,\u201cZ\u00fclkifl (a.s)\u2019n\u0131n kabri ve manast\u0131r\u0131 ziyaret\u201d k\u0131sm\u0131nda bir manast\u0131r hakk\u0131nda: \u201cBundan sonra, buraya (Z\u00fclkifl Nebi\u2019nin makam\u0131na \u2013M. \u00dcz\u00fclmez) yak\u0131n bir mesafede ve gayet sarp bir kaya \u00fczerinde bulunan ces\u00eem (b\u00fcy\u00fck) bir manast\u0131r\u0131 da g\u00f6rd\u00fck. Rivayete g\u00f6re, bu manast\u0131r\u0131n binas\u0131 da gayet eski imi\u015f. El-yevm (bug\u00fcn) mamur bir halde olup, der\u00fbnunda (i\u00e7inde) bir hayli ruhban (din adam\u0131) ikamet etmektedirler\u201d denilerek az\u0131c\u0131k kilise hakk\u0131nda bilgi verilmekte, ama Ermeni s\u00f6zc\u00fc\u011f\u00fc telaffuz edilmemektedir (s.85). Maden anlat\u0131l\u0131rken de bak\u0131r madeninde \u00e7al\u0131\u015fanlar\u0131n \u00e7o\u011funun Rum ve Zaza i\u015f\u00e7iler oldu\u011funa hi\u00e7 de\u011finilmeden \u201cbak\u0131r\u0131n elde edili\u015f ve imal \u015fekli\u201d anlat\u0131lmaktad\u0131r. Bu anlat\u0131mda da Erganimadeni\u2019nden \u00e7\u0131kar\u0131lan cevherlerin imalinde imtiyaz sahibinin M\u00f6sy\u00f6 Toboyni ile M\u00f6sy\u00f6 Ole\u00e7iyo oldu\u011fu yaz\u0131lmamaktad\u0131r (<em>Bu konuda Osmanl\u0131 Ar\u015fiv belgeleri i\u00e7in<\/em> <em>L\u00fctfi Ergane\u2019nin haz\u0131rlam\u0131\u015f oldu\u011fu Sancak\u2019tan Vilayet\u2019e \/1876-1926 MADEN kitab\u0131na bak\u0131la bilinir. s.78).<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>H\u00e2s\u0131l-\u0131 kel\u00e2m, \u201c\u0130stanbul\u2019dan Ba\u011fdat\u2019a Mektuplarla Bir Anadolu ve Ortado\u011fu Seyahati 1892\u201d kitab\u0131nda yer alan anlat\u0131mlarda d\u00f6nemin ger\u00e7ekleri g\u00f6rmemezlikten geliniyor ve b\u00f6yle olunca da Bat\u0131l\u0131 seyyahlar\u0131n yazd\u0131klar\u0131yla kar\u015f\u0131la\u015ft\u0131r\u0131nca yaz\u0131lanlar de\u011ferde \u00e7ok hafif kal\u0131yor. Fazla kitap g\u00f6z \u00e7\u0131karmaz, ama seyahat t\u00fcr\u00fcnde yaz\u0131lan kitaplar\u0131n her \u015feyden \u00f6nce ger\u00e7ek g\u00f6zlemlere dayanmas\u0131, gezilen yerlerin ruhunu yans\u0131tmas\u0131, hayal \u00fcr\u00fcn\u00fc olmamas\u0131 ve okuyucuya bir \u015feyler vermesi gerekir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>G\u00fcne\u015f ayd\u0131nl\u0131\u011f\u0131nda bahar esintili bol kitapl\u0131 g\u00fcnler.
